Ways to Travel to Rhodes

Flights to Rhodes
Rhodes International Airport "Diagoras" is among the four most busiest airports in Greece. It receives domestic flights from Athens, Thessaloniki and other locations, while in summer it receives flights from many countries around Europe, too. The flight time from Athens to Rhodes is estimated around 50 minutes.
Upon your arrival on the island, if you rented a car, the car will be ready for you at the airport. If not,  it is a good idea to take a taxi for your transfer, since the airport is located about 16 km away from Rhodes Town.

To Swim

Faliraki
Faliraki is a long, sandy beach, really popular in summer.
The most popular and organized Rhodes beach with lots of umbrellas and sunbeds. and many restaurants, cafes, beach bars and luxurious hotels around - the ultimate beach experience!
At Faliraki beach, there is also Faliraki Waterpark, the biggest water park in Europe and there’s a reason for this: Several water slides guarantee the most adventurous time!

Anthony Quinn
One of the most famous and most relaxing beaches in Rhodes. Its original name was Vagies but, after “The Guns of Navarone” was filmed there, its name changed after the name of the lead actor.
The gorgeous natural landscape, the warm water, the sunbeds, and umbrellas create a uniquely peaceful atmosphere!

Lindos Saint Paul’s Bay
The small port of Agios Pavlos in Lindos took its name from Apostle Paul, who was said to land there and teach Christianity. This is a small cove under the Castle of Lindos.

Kallithea
the locals’ favorite choices for swimming, with an idyllic scenery. Small bays and coves surrounded by palm trees and pine trees, leading to a beautiful sea with calm emerald waters.

Elli Beach
Elli beach is considered as one of the most beautiful Mediterranean beaches and attracts many photographers, who are mesmerized by its panoramic view!
The best part about it is its walking distance from Rhodes town. Hundreds of tourists and locals visit Elli beach every day to enjoy the sea and the sun, sunbeds, umbrellas, restaurants, luxurious hotels with pools.

Lighthouse Kiotari – Evan’s favorite
Located 60 km south of Rhodes town and just a few minutes drive from the picturesque resort of Lindos, Kiotari is a cosmopolitan and modern place with various hotels offering the visitors all the facilities for peaceful holidays.
Over the years, the beach has become very popular due to its clear blue waters and golden sand.There are many taverns and restaurants on the beachfront where they serve traditional delicious Greek food.

Kalami – Maria’s favorite
Located on the east side of the island, just 10 minutes from the center of the island, Kalami beach bar restaurant offers an unforgettable beach life experience. Santa Marina – Maria’s favorite
Located on the 2nd km of Rodou- Kallithea Avenue, Santa Marina offers an idyllic landscape, the view of the small bay with the sandy beach. Small rocks rising in the sea are completing the natural beauty of the landscape.

Afandou
The beach of Afandou is long and sandy. This is one of the most popular beach resorts of Rhodes duw to its beautiful setting and the organized tourist facilities.

Prasonissi
Prassonissi is one of the most beautiful and secluded beaches on Rhodes. It is located on the southernmost spot of the island. A small peninsula in the sea creates two sandy beaches.

Tsambika
Turquoise water and golden sand create a beautiful scenery in Tsambika, ideal for relaxing and enjoying the sun.

Traganou
Traganou beach is a great place to escape the crowds. Whilst the beach is mainly small pebbles, it has some of the best swimming on the island – with crystal clear waters and caves to explore at the northern end.

Worth visiting! Excellent food at good prices. The restaurant's owner is a very nice guy and the cook is very good! The greek meatballs, chicken souvlaki (best in town!) and sandwiches are strongly recommended.

To See

Acropolis of Lindos
The Acropolis of Lindos dates back to the Hellenistic period. A part of it was restored by the Knights. The site today belongs to the Greek Ministry of Culture and much work is being done, by both Greek and foreign archaeologists, to protect this monument.

Springs of Kallithea
Since the ancient times, the water of Kallithea was known for the beneficial qualities. In 1927, the Italians inaugurated the spring facilities and built an impressive monument. After many years of decadence, the springs opened again in 2007.

Palace of Grand Master
The Palace of Grand Master is located at the end of Knights Street. This is one of the best-preserved castles of the Mediterranean and the symbol of the island. It was constructed by the Knights of Saint John in the Medieval times and was reconstructed in the early 20th century.

Valley of Butterflies
The green valley full of plane trees and of cool running water flowing creates a pure paradise. This valley is a reproduction spot for butterflies and visitors are asked not to make noise and bother them.

Museum of Bee & Honey
About 5 km from Rhodes Town, towards the airport, there is the Museum of Honey and the Natural History of the Bee. This unique museum was created by the Beekeeping Company of Dodecanese and presents the way that honey is produced.
